snore

I'm starting to think I need to blog about actual
exciting events or fairytale type of stories.
I dont think I'll ever get a reader with my
boring brooklyn life.

I hope I have something to gossip about
when I return from New England. Maybe
i'll meet a perfect boy or a prince or
something other than blogging about
my cat and my dinner!

oy vey.

She wears the pants.

Today was sort of a bore. I woke up late and eventually
made it to the post office where my vintage cat eye raybans
were waiting for me! I already have a pair in brown and
amazingly found the same ones in black on ebay. They were
limited edition and quite rare, I'll have to post a photo
soon. As far as that, I visited a friend and got dinner. I have had
waaay too much free time lately and soaking it up before my
fulltime internship at Paper Mag which starts in ahhhhhhhh two
weeks! Todays look was inspired by Yves Saint Laurent's f/w 08.

I love the highwaisted pants with pleats and balloon action.

I found her off of google images. It was taken in Paris in the 1940s.
These pants are such a classic menswear/feminine look.

of course style icons such as Diane Keaton and Katherine Hepburn
are famous ladies known to wear the trouser.

& there is my take on the trousers. I bought these at my
friends store, Franny & Roey.  Theyre a french label from
the 80s obviously copying the 40s. I paired it with a vintage
blazer and Norma Kamali tank, and the YSL manifesto tote.
voila! I unfortunately didnt wear the heels all day, those
one of my favorite black heels, vintage Susan Edward Bennis.
Well I must finish packing, such an early day tomorrow!
Heading to Maine to visit Jade and thrift a lot and then to Boston
for new years eve. I'm so excited to get out of the city and
experience a different new years in another city.

See you in '09!

I need to sleep!

But I will blog instead. quickly.
I ended up spending the rest of my lazy sunday at
my dear friend Illian's store. I will blog eventually
about her store. Its vintage mens and women along
with records and many treasures. After she closed the
shop we walked across the street to my favorite little
nook, Walter Foods. I will eventually blog about Walter
Foods as well, once I get an actual reader or two, ha. Its
so good! The food-the drinks. One of my favorite dishes
yet has to be the:

bread pudding! so good. I'll save a blog dedicated to Walter
Foods for another day. (Its on Grand between Roebling
& Driggs in Williamsburg, Brooklyn--Walterfoods.com)
Today was super warm for the end of December in NY. Infact
it was two degrees away from the record of 65. I knew it would
be chilly later so I wore a big coat, but wore my jazz flats sock
free!

I nagged this oversized lumberjack coat two years from
the Goodwill in Queens. It reminds of Ralph Lauren f/w
08 when I belt it. The jeans are some label I never heard
of from Intermix and the flats are Capezio.

My street at night on my walk home. charming & quiet.
Sometimes I wonder when I'm going to get sick of living
here. Maybe never.

Im watching Antiques Roadshow and growing a crush on
one of the hosts. Theres something about British accents.
On that note, good night!

ou es-tu, Givenchy?

This morning..or early afternoon I should say, I am going
to blog about my beloved cat, Givenchy. After I actually
get outside and wander a bit on this lazy sunday, I'll blog later
about something that may actually interest you. So Givenchy
is spending an extra week upstate in the countryside with my
parents ( I back home after the holidays to Brooklyn on friday)
to get shots and so my mom could drive her back, shes too much
to handle on the train. It has only been two days, and I miss her!
I live in an extremely small flat and I'm quite used to having her
around. Shes the best roommate I have ever had.
Now for some photos..

As you can see she loves to snuggle up in Ferregamo
shopping bags and my vintage Louis Vuitton..I didnt put
her in there! She really does just love to sleep
in luxury bags. I mean, her name is Givenchy..

haha.

voila

So I did it. I made a blog. I will blog about fashion, art, friends,
brooklyn, music, love, wizards, emotions, inspirations, magic,
gypsies, and life.

Harlequin was last nights inspiration. Its been around since
the 16th century and Miu Miu, Eley Kishimoto, Viktor & Rolf,
amongst others have been continuing to keep this whimsical
design around. Above is paul, painted by Pablo Picasso. With
the ruffles & all I have a feeling Miucha has seen this painting..
Thats my thrifted harlequin jacket I bought
last week. I paired it with the green Chanel
and kept an Edie Sedgwick dance silhouette underneath.

Above is Eley Kishimoto from fall 08 and of course Miu Miu
from spring 08. I still dream of those bags! I love the playful
shape of the jacket and the dress from Eley Kishimoto.

Okay I must pick something out to wear and rush out
the door--meeting friends in the east village. How rare
of me to leave the borough!
