Horizons

Whats the pretty glowing pink shop on Metropolitan ave?!
Well besides Cheeks Bakerys pink-icing cupcakes, its Horizons
Vintage across the street!
Below are some photos of Briannes vintage store, and one of
my personal favorites here located at 377 Metropolitan ave.,
Brooklyn. (on Metropolitan between Havermeyer & Havermeyer).
She carries womens vintage ranging from the early 90's to the
30's and 40's. A lot of designer pieces but her overall esthetic is
interesting design and high quality. There is always a $10-20
rack outside for girls like me (college student with a low bank
account-hah) and the average price inside is $30-120. It is very
affordable for our regular neighborhood girls and the pretty girls
visiting from all around who often come in looking for something
different and special. And if you're lucky, I work here some days so
you might just be able to dance and play dress up with me!
Below is where I sit and Blog to you!
Wearing my favorite coat in the store at the moment.
It has that 60's Courreges mod cream look that I love.
These shoes fit me and are too hard to resist. If they stick
around long enough they will be on my feet, so get them quick!
The textile on this dress is AHH-MAZING. Its rental only,
so stylists...*wink wink*
My favorite bracelet. It reminds me of Marc Jcobs jewels from
past seasons.

So yeah, come shop, hang out, drink some wine,
hot cocoa, or espresso & eat Cheeks cupcakes with us!

snow bunnies

The tooth pain has gone down tremendously! Thank you
for the sweet concerns. I'm actually feeling a  bit better
in general, good friends and good music can really help that.
It has been snow snow snow here! It actually looks pretty.
I'm sure I will be grunting at it Monday morning though on my
way to midtown---first day at Paper Mag! ahh! excited. nervous.

Here are some photos of me dancing around my friends vintage
store here in Brooklyn, named Horizons. I work there, shop there,
live there practically. Its my second home. I'm sure you'll understand
why when I post a blog about it with some photos :]
I think I clearly look happier. Just wearing an oversized cream
vintage silk top with my bow tie necklace, verrry short cut off
levis, and sock man tights. The sock man has the best warm
tights in so many colors for the dreary ny winter. Of course I
mostly have black and grey tones.

This photo came out dark but we liked the lights on the car.
The vintage coat is my latest prized posession found on Tuesday
at the salvation army for $12.99! Expect to see a lot more photos
of me in it!
!
Here are some so cute snuggly high fashion inspiration snow
bunnies I found through Fifi Lapins blogspot:http://fifi-lapin.blogspot.com
I hope its okay I posted these! I cant get enough of the bunnies!

secret garden

Today was terrible. Without having to leave Brooklyn and
go into the city for a few weeks now, I sort of forgot how
much I hate the subway. Especially the L train. We were stopped
underground for at least 20 minutes total and then stopped
for more minutes at 1st avenue. Of course I was running late
for the *gulp* dentist I was forced to catch a cab all the way uptown.
I had to get--------a root canal today.
I ended up breaking down in the bathroom before the procedure.
Its hard to compose yourself when you feel like everything
around you is falling apart, the tooth was just the cherry on the
piled high cake with 10 layers of icing..
Now in bed, watching the secret garden and another netflix
afterwards. Here are some beautiful photos by Rony Shram
and Denise Grunstein inspiring me to uplift my mood. It doesnt
help that it is January. January - March in New York is no sunlight
and too many layers of clothing.

I love the colors and femininity  in the clothing and actions.
These photos are very secret garden. It makes me miss my
summers in Cape Cod, playing dressing up
& bicycling around.

tooooth aches are such a downer.
pain pain go away, please don't
come back another day.

Chantal chaneling YSL f/w 08. even the hair!

Naomi making soy pudding aha. It actually turned out
quite tasty & successful!
Then we were off to the Richardson for Susanahs birthday.
And yes, I did have a little wine.
Photo overload! & finally a photo of Illians cat, Pigeon. I visited her
new apartment tonight and thought this would be a fetching photo.
I finally got some netflix in the mail today. Currently watching,
You Can Count on Me. A real downer! And the one I really wanted
to watch, Marvins Room, featuring two of my faves Meryl Streep &
Diane Keaton had a slash in the DVD! Grrrr Netflix people for not
checking.

Sleep tight!

dreamcatchers

Today was so much fun. so eventful. I ended up  helping
Naomi, Ann, and Hilary find an apartment. We looked at
a few loft spaces. These are some photos from one of the
roofs.
Thats silly me in my Margot Tenenabaum vintage fur.
and of course my 60's buckle up chloe like heel booties.

Blogger is being really difficult with downloading photos.
Does anyone else experience this? I'll have to post photos
of the rest of the night tomorrow. It is way past my bedtime.

party pooper

Ugh I know I have sad this before---but really, I never want
to drink again! Last night Jade hosted a potluck. So much fun
filled with food, wine, and laughs. But hitting the local bars
afterwards was a mistake. I really dont like waking up feeling
awful the next day. Naomi and I just lounged around today and
got dinner and watched Rosemary's baby for inspiration. Naomi
is going to make me a 60's bell shaped trapeze dress. She interns at
Oscar de la Renta and Proenza Schouler and is an amazing designer.
I'm so excited for my dress!
Its cold enough for fur thats fur sure. Vintage & faux only,
of course.

I'm really tired. Sorry to be a bore.

whos the stud?

Ahh yes, inspired yet again by Givenchy. Givenchy somehow
sneaks into my style and daily dress code, however today
was quite obvious; studs.

I d.i.y. these boots with little gold studs. They were a boring
pair of vintage black riding boots. I want to put more on
its just hard and it hurts my hands hah.
I had a boring friday, therefore boring style. I have been feeling
depressed. I guess my fashion sense is showing that. I mean I
love black---but I have been wearing it overload.

sorry for the low energy. Now having a cup of hot cocoa
and going to sleep a lot..

New New New

So its the new year. I have returned from my New England
adventure! Thrifting in Maine and partying the new year in
Boston. Unfortunately I was so busy I didnt even take that
many photos! Oh well. I did however get a bags full of goodies
at a few sal armys and thrift stores in Maine. I must post photos.
Ugh new years eve was so unbearably cold in Boston, so we just
had a small party at Jades friends place. An over-layered unexciting
outfit & cheap champagne. But I'm not complaining, I had
tons of laughs and I think next year its time to celebrate the
new year in a warmer climate.

well I am back now in cozy lovely charming williamsburg.
Verrrry exhausted. So dont mind the lack of information and
creativity.
Here are some things that I anticipate for in 09:
-travel travel travel! Coasta Rica in March and Paris
Berlin & Copenhagen in the summer
-Paper Mag internship
-graduation!
- moving into a bigger apartment
-falling inlove

& so much more shopping! such as finally buying the
alexander wang bag ive been drooling over since i first spotted
it

And chhhhhcheck out the new Versace Ad's.
Kate looks like the ever-so-young looking, gorgeous
creature she is. And that dress! Now that is Lara
dress.
I heart it!
Happy new year kittens.
